At what age am I eligible for a policy?
Policies can be issued at birth for new borns and up to the age of 74 years old.
Can I retain my insurance past the age of 74?
Yes
Once you purchase the policy, you may keep it for life. The policy is guaranteed renewable, subject to the terms of the policy.
Why is there an application fee?
This is to pay for the doctor to review your medical history and apply any exclusions if any need apply.
Can I pay monthly, quarterly, or semi annually?
Yes, but there is an additional charge for more frequent charges. Monthly +20%, Quarterly +15%, Semi-annual +10%.
What are the main differences between the Care and Select policy?
The care policy is more restrictive and has reimbursement limits for inpatient and outpatient coverage. Select offer more substantial coverage. Please review the plan limits and restrictions prior to purchasing the plan.
Must I disclose all my health issues or conditions when I apply?
Yes, when in doubt, we always recommend disclosing the condition, illness or accident. This assures that any future claims will not be denied due to being deemed preexisting. Failure to do this can result in a cliam being denied or even the policy terminated.
How long does underwriting take?
In general, it takes about 10 business days, depending on your health history.
Must I take a health exam?
You will only need to take a health exam if your are older than 65 years old, or if underwriting request more test based on your provided medical history.
If I purchase a plan for Mexico does it work in other countries?
Yes your policy works in over 195 countries, including the United States if you select coverage for it. Two common countries that are not covered is Cuba and North Korea. Please contact us for an up to date list Contact
What does the travel rider cover?
The travel rider is an optional travel policy within the medical policy. The travel rider covers up to 10k USD for any illness or accident without having to make your deductible. This policy works when you are outside of your insured ‘home’ country Click here to see a detailed explanation and policy terms.

Can I add a maternity/travel rider after purchasing a policy?
Yes, but it would have to be during policy renewal.
Are the prices listed in USD?
Yes. All of the costs in the brochure, and on the quote are stated in USD.
Is there a percentage increase to policies year by year?
Yes there is an average 6% raise year to year to match the inflation of medical costs.
Will my policy get more expensive as I get older?
Yes, health insurance pricing is based on individuals grouped in 5 year age categories. For example, individuals that are 60 to 64 of the same sex pay the same rates. Once you, “age” into the next age category, there is an increase in premiums. This can be about 30%. This is in addition to the annual price increase. We can estimate your future premiums, based on what current year clients of that age pay.
Can they single me out to increase my premiums if I have future claims?
No, you may not be individually singled out for a price increase due to your claims.
What countries are covered by your policies?
Over 195+ countries are covered by the policy, US coverage is optional on the policy, North Korea and Cuba are excluded. Please message us for an up to date list
Am I covered immediately?
The WEA Policy contains a thirty (30) day Waiting Period,
during which only infection originated diseases and
Accidental Injuries occurring by the first time within this
period will be covered. This may be waived with proof of prior private coverage for 12 months. ( sorry medicare of socialized plans ie Canadian, do not qualify.)
What deductible amounts do you offer?
We offer $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 deductibles.
What pre-existing conditions are covered?
Unfortunately, our policies do not cover pre-existing conditions. The insurance company will review your application. The company may issue the policy and restrict coverage or impose limited coverage for the preexisting condition.
What hospitals are covered under your policies?
If you’re in the United States and chose US coverage, our policies are part of the United Healthcare network.
Here is a link to view coverage in the United States.
For the rest of the world, any hospital or doctor that is licensed and certified is capable of being used.
Are these policies ACA / “Obamacare”?
No, the polices are not ACA qualified. Please check with your tax advisor how you may be able to opt out of the requirement.

How long may I remain in the US and have coverage?
You may remain in the US for up to 6 out of 12 months and have US. coverage.
Do the plans have a deductible per event or for all of your health insurance costs?
Deductible are for all your health insurance cost for the entire year. Once you surpass your deductible for the year, you will not need to pay anymore.
Are deductibles calendar year, policy year, or per event?
They are per policy year.

What is pre-certification?
Pre-certification is the act of letting the insurance company know of any future medical operations that are being preformed. This is done to help protect you to make sure all operations are FDA compliant and that the hospital is staying within UCR cost (Usual, Customary, and Reasonable).

Limits depend on your age, typical policy will cover up to $1,000,000
What does it cover?
The policy focuses on medical expenses for unexpected illnesses or accidents. Most policies also offer coverage for unexpected travel expenses like lost luggage or missed connections.
Will policies cover pre-existing conditions?
In general, the policies have very little or no coverage for pre-existing conditions. Carefully review your policy terms for any conditions you may have.
Is there any underwriting?
No, they do not have any underwriting. But be aware that if you have a claim, the company will request your medical history to make sure no pre-existing conditions existed. We always stress the importance that if you have a pre-existing condition it will not be covered.
Can I purchase a travel policy as an American if I go back to the US as a visit?
Yes, if you qualify for the policy terms. In general all policies want to make sure you do not reside in the United States, and have been outside the United states for 6 or more months, some policy require a primary health plan such as an international health policy. Contact us to review your specific condition for this type of travel. Also post policy limits are only 30 days.

What needs to happen in order to be evacuated?
You must be in patient hospitalized and stabilized enough to be evacuated to your home country. If you are not stable enough to fly, you will not be evacuated.
How will you be evacuated?
It depends on the severity of your conditions. The three ways you are typically evacuated are:
1. Commercial Airline
2. Commercial Airline with Escort
3. Air ambulance (private jet)
Where will I be evacuated to?
It will evecaute you to your home that you designated.
What air ambulance company will be used?
The company we use owns their own air ambulance unlike most of the competitors that bid out.
Won’t my credit card or travel insurance policy cover this?
Check your terms and conditions. For most policies, we find that they only evacuate to the closest facility that can treat you properly.
